Charles William Arthur
Charles William Arthur, age 92, of McClellandtown, Pa., formerly of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, March 14, 2003 in The Popovich Home, McClellandtown. He was born March 11, 1911 in Hazelton, West Virginia, son of William T. Arthur and Callie B. (Van Sickle) Arthur.
Mr. Arthur was a Machine Operator retired from Westinghouse Air Brake and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Uniontown, Men’s Bible Class of Asbury Church, and The Silver Threads in McClellandtown.
He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose and also The Circle Club in Uniontown.
A brother, Byron Arthur, a sister, Azile Sissler, and parents predeceased him.
He is survived by two sisters: Margaret Vaccaro of McClellandtown, Pa., and Maxine Hileman of Big Rapids, Michigan; and many nephews and nieces.
Friends will be received in the H. DAVID McELROY FUNERAL HOME, 803 Main Street, McClellandtown, Pa., on Monday, March 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 18, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service. The Rev. James P. Fogg Jr. will officiate.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
