Fayette, Greene to receive portion of storm reimbursement funding

1 min read

WASHINGTON (AP) – Fayette and Greene counties will receive federal reimbursement to help pay for the cost of last month’s major snowstorm. President Bush declared Friday that the costs from the storm created an emergency in Pennsylvania, and he ordered federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts.

The president’s action makes federal funding available to the state and eligible local governments in 29 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties.

Money is available to pay part of the cost of emergency protective measures that were undertaken to save lives and protect public health, safety and property over a 48-hour period.
