Laurrie Larry “Chip” Sprowls, age 55, of Charleroi, Fallowfield Township, Pa., a 1967 graduate of California High School, California, Pa., who retired on February 25, 2003 from 84 Mining Company after 34 years of service, died at 1:48 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2003 in the Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. On July 27, 1968 he married Dolores Stepko Sprowls, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Shirley Eugene Sprowls of Coal Center, Pa.; daughters: Mrs. Christopher (Mary Carol Sprowls) Zbyl of Bentleyville, Pa., and Mrs. Leonard (Christina Marie Sprowls) Eley of Fayette City, Pa.; son, Thomas Justin Sprowls of Charleroi, Pa.; and grandchildren: Kirsten Elizabeth Zbyl, Brooke Alexis Zbyl and Brandon Anthony Zybl (with whom Chip enjoyed going to flag football games) all of Bentleyville, Pa., and Ashley Marie Prati of Fayette City, Pa.

Friends will be received in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, Pa., on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 19, until the prayer service at 9:30 a.m.
