William A. Johnson Jr.
William A. Johnson Jr., age 76, of McMurray, Pa., died Saturday, March 15, 2003 in Country Meadows, Bridgeville, Pa. He was born March 12, 1927 in Uniontown, Pa., the son of William A. Johnson Sr. and Anna Wilcox Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, taught Sunday School, and was a member of The Builder’s Class.
He was also a member and past President of the Bethel/St. Clair Rotary Club, former Scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts of America, Life Member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and an active member of his community.
Mr. Johnson also served in the United States Navy during World War II.
His wife, Bertha M. Livingston Johnson, a sister, Nora Brown, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons: William A. “Chip” Johnson III and wife, Shanna, of Hebron, Maryland, and Craig A. Johnson and wife, Valerie, of Peters Township, Pa.; two daughters: Marilyn Sue Johnson of Bentleyville, Pa., and Jill Ann Johnson True and husband, Duane True, of Boston, Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren; and four sisters: Ruth Peters of Columbia, Pa., Doris Wallace of Dayton, Ohio, Ann “Maggie” Riddell of Uniontown, Pa., and Janet Thomas of Coopersburg, Pa.
Friends of William A. Johnson Jr. will be received at BEINHAUERS, 2828 Washington Road, Peters Township, McMurray, PA 15317 (724-941-3211) on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 19, at 10 a.m. in Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, Pa.
Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens.
