John G. Vensko
John G. Vensko, 67, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday, March 14, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born on March 11, 1936 in Greensburg, Pa., son of Andy and Helen (Malachin) Vensko.
John was a life member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Uniontown and a member of the Greek Catholic Union.
He had a deep appreciation for music and was an avid musician for many years.
John was a Production Worker for many years at Walworth Manufacturing in Greensburg, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Joseph Vensko, and two sisters, Agnes and Theresa Vensko.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sue Miller-Vensko, whom he married on November 2, 1974; his children: Johnny Vensko and wife, Lori, of Detroit, Michigan, Richard Vensko of Detroit, Michigan, James Vensko of Livonia, Michigan, Janice Vensko Coppens and husband, Randy Coppens, of Redford, Michigan, Ronald Vensko and wife, Dorene, of Livonia, Michigan, and Christopher D. Vensko of Uniontown, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Kelli Vensko, Paula Vensko, Bobby Vensko, Mallory Vensko, Austin Vensko, Katie Coppers and Christine Coppers; five brothers: Steven Vensko and wife, Elizabeth, of Flint, Michigan, Andrew Vensko and wife, Margaret, of Fenton, Michigan, Frank Vensko and wife, Ann Marie, of Uniontown, Pa., Edward Vensko and wife, Annette, of Uniontown, Pa., and David Vensko and wife, Kathy, of Uniontown, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Irene Vensko Deaton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, 603 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today, March 17, until 10:30 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held.
Divine Liturgy follows at 11 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Wesdock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Parastas was held in the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7 p.m.
