Cynthia L. Festog
Cynthia L. “Cindy” (Burnworth) Festog, 46, of McClellandtown, Pa., passed away peacefully in West Penn Hospital with her loving family at her side on Tuesday, March 18, 2003, following a courageous battle with leukemia.
She was born on July 7, 1956, in Confluence, Pa., a daughter of Hazel (Burnsworth) Burnworth of Addison, and the late Calvin Burnworth.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Wilbur Burnworth; an infant sister, Rosetta Burnworth; and her in-laws, Marge and Frank Festog.
She was a loving and devoted mother and “Nana”, who cherished her grandchildren and the time spent with them. Cindy was very caring and concerned about helping others and she enjoyed going to Bingo.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 30 years, Barry Festog; her two daughters, Sharon Zidek and husband, Mar, with whom she made her home of McClellandtown, Pa., and Stacy Kern and husband, Joe of Uniontown, Pa.; her beloved grandchildren, Alexander, Zachary and Joshua Zidek and Kameron Kern; the following brothers and sisters, Patricia Daniels and husband, Ed and Ethel Morrison and husband, Jim, all of Coshocton, Ohio, Dukie Whipkey and husband, David of Ohiopyle, Pa., Jane Christian and husband, Larry of Berlin Heights, Ohio, Eugene Burnworth and wife, Judy, Bonnie Dodson and husband, Chink and Rick Burnworth and wife, Brenda, all of Vermilion, Ohio, Tammy Wagner and husband, John of Confluence, Pa., and Ronald Burnworth and wife, Tammy of Lorain, Ohio; 26 nieces and nephews; 29 great-nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Bernard Carl officiating. Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
