City police said someone hit a dog at 89 Gallatin Ave Tuesday. The dog was taken to a veterinarian.

Nakia Williams of 135 Liberty St. told police that a light-skinned black man wearing a black ski mask, a blue sweatshirt and jeans entered the back door of her apartment Tuesday, hit her on the head with a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. Police said the man left the apartment without taking anything. Williams was treated at Uniontown Hospital.

Steaks taken
Midtown Foodland reported that a white, heavyset woman in her late 30s to 40s, wearing light-colored jeans took about 12 packages of steaks from the store Tuesday. Police said the woman stuffed the steaks into her purse.

Man charged
City police picked up Jamaal Fairfax, 20, of 5 Chaffee St., Uniontown, on Penn Street Tuesday on a PFA violation and harassment citations.
Fairfax was arraigned at District Justice Mark Blair’s Uniontown office and taken to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $25,000 bail.

State police said a 37-year-old New Salem man allegedly violated a protection from abuse order by going to the residence of Tonya Cramer, 29, of Allison March 11 at 10:09 a.m.

State police said Kurtis Dalton, 24, of Smithfield was cited for public drunkenness after he allegedly was found under the influence of alcohol at 303 Railroad St. Tuesday at 2:10 a.m.

According to state police, charges have been filed against Robert Crowe of LaBelle for harassment after an incident involving Donna Crowe at a residence along Coal Street, Tower Hill 2, Tuesday at 1:30 a.m.

According to state police, a Smithfield man found a Poulan 1800 Woodsman chain saw in his yard along Collier Road at 4 p.m. March 8.

State police said Carla Hay, 40, of Connellsville was cited for public drunkenness after she was struck while walking along West Crawford Avenue by a vehicle driven by Kimberly Kelly, 42, of Dunbar at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

State police said burglary charges were filed before District Justice Rick Vernon against Harley King of Lake Lynn after King allegedly tried to steal bottles of Oxycontin from the New Salem Pharmacy between 3:30 and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. Police said King was placed in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $100,000 straight cash bond.

State police said someone stole a white 1994 Chevy Blazer, bearing registration number DYV-9640 and owned by Charlotte Kuritz, 50, from a residence at 939 Keisterville Road between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 5 a.m. Wednesday.
