Sophia T. Mocniak
Sophia T. Mocniak, 97, of Bobtown, Pa., died Monday, March 17, 2003, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born Aug. 15, 1905, in Poland, daughter of the late George and Katherine Gorlicki Tokarsky.
She was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, the Rosary and Altar Society, and was the oldest resident of Bobtown.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Mocniak Sr., on Aug. 7, 1988; six sisters, Mary, Anne, Agnes, Antoinette, Blanche and Rose; and a half-brother, Paul..
She is survived by one son, Frank J. Mocniak of Headlee Heights, Pa.; three daughters, Dolores Walcek of Bethany Beach, Del., Pearl Makski of Carlsbad, Calif., and Joan Mocniak of Bobtown; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nellie Lasko of New York.
Friends will be received in THE LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, 15 Main St., Point Marion today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. On Friday, prayers will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Ignatius R.C. Church of Bobtown, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Lawrence V. Holpp, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion. Parish Vigil Service will be held in the funeral home this evening at 8:30 p.m.
