Ernest J. Kormos
Ernest J. “Chuck” Kormos, age 75, of Hiller, Pa., died Friday, March 21, 2003 at his home. He was born May 28, 1927 in Albany, Pa., son of Alexander Kormos and Mary Sholtis Kormos.
He was a member and Usher at The Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville, Pa., Veteran of World War II, and member of the American Legion Post 295, Brownsville, Pa., Son of Italy, Brownsville, Pa, and Hiller Volunteer Fire Department where he ran Bingo.
He raised money for Children’s Hospital Free Care Fund since 1979.
“Chuck” was also a member and past President of Construction Local 286.
A brother, Joseph Kormos, infant sister, Virginia, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lucille Ann Mammarella Kormos; three daughters: Toni and her husband Don Cramer, Brownsville, Pa., Eva and her husband, Philip “Chip” Giannetti, Brownsville, Pa., and Gina Maczko, Uniontown, Pa.; three grandchildren: John Cramer, Jason Cramer and Taylor Maczko; two brothers: William Kormos, Newry, Pa., and James Kormos, Brownsville, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Monday, March 24, at 9:30 a.m.
A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. in The Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville with Rev. Fr. Vincent Gigliotti as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Children’s Hospital Foundation, 3705 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
Sons of Italy Men’s Lodge 731 will hold Services today at 7 p.m.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.
