State police said Melissa M. Thorpe, 21, of Lemont Furnace suffered minor injuries Friday when her 1996 Chevrolet Beretta was forced off the roadway on Connellsville Street, hit an embankment and turned over onto its roof.

State police said they found a burned blue Mercury on March 20 on Spruce Hollow Road, about a mile east of Breakneck Road.

State police said Anthony Mari of Uniontown lost control of his 1994 Chevrolet Blazer while attempting to negotiate a turn Thursday on Route 40, about two miles east of Route 381.

On March 18, Troy Jarrett and Robert Howell told state police that someone took two 2001 Honda 300 all-terrain vehicles from their garages, and Lisa Howell said someone took her 2001 Suzuki RM 125 from her garage, all located along Weaver Mill Road, Smithfield.

Lucinda Fields of 81 Connellsville St. told police that someone took her blue 1992 Mercury Capri convertible with a license plate of FBV-2678 Wednesday night.

William McMurray of 170 Downer Ave. told police Friday that someone took an 18- or 20-inch light purple Mongoose seven-speed bike from his back yard Thursday night.
Police said the bike has chrome forks and a torn black seat.

Charges filed
Police filed charges of simple assault, harassment and carrying a prohibited offensive weapon against Paul W. Walden, 29, of Dunlap Street on Friday after Heather Walden, same address, told police that Walden bit her on the hand. Police said that when Walden was taken into custody, officers found a switchblade knife on him. He was arraigned before Uniontown District Justice Mark Blair.

State police said John Cramer, 37, of New Salem violated a protection-from-abuse order by going to the 244 Second St. residence of Tonya Cramer, 29, on March 11 at 10 a.m. Police said the order forbade him from going to her home.

Teen hurt in crash
State police at Waynesburg said Amanda Chidester, 16, of Jefferson was injured in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday on Center School Road, just north of Center Loop Road. She was transported from the scene by Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance. The Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company also assisted at the scene.

Shannon Johnson of 74 Pershing Court told police that someone painted a threatening remark with pink nail polish on the back door of her residence Friday.
