Nick Congelio
Nick Congelio, age 90, of Charleroi, Pa., and formerly of Allison Two, Pa., passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the home of his daughter, Carol Barcelona. He was born May 2, 1912 in Elm Grove, Pa., son of the late Carmen and Caroline Marone Congelio.
Nick was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Republic.
He retired from Republic Steel Corporation where he was a Maintenance Welder and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
He was also a retired Barber after 40 years in Allison, Pa.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Marciano Congelio, sisters, Lucy DiConcilio and Caroline Carbonara, and brothers, Joseph and John Congelio.
Surviving are a daughter with whom he made his home, Carol Barcelona and her husband, Jack, of Charleroi; a son, Carmen Congelio of Lorain, Ohio; grandchildren: Michael Congelio and his wife Mary, Kathryn Miller and her husband Scott, Christopher Congelio, Daniel Congelio and his wife Steffany, David Barcelona and his wife Amy, and Nicholas Barcelona; seven great-grandchildren; sisters: Theresa Toth of Allison, Pa., Mary Terravecchia of West Chester, Pa., and Susan Terravecchia of Allison, Pa.; and a brother, Frank Congelio of Grindstone, Pa.
Friends were received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 22, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service was held.
A Funeral Mass followed at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Republic, with Rev. Fr. Stephen Bugay as Celebrant.
Interment followed in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
A Parish Wake Service was held on Friday at 8 p.m.
