Bernadette Vrabel Rankin, age 59, of 16 Maple Street, Fairchance, PA 15436 died Friday, March 21, 2003 at 4:30 a.m. in Uniontown Hospital.

She was born October 19, 1943 in Edenborn, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Mike Vrabel and Sophie Hunchuck Vrabel.

Bernadette graduated from Albert Gallatin High School Class of 1961.

She was a Housewife and a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa., and McClellandtown Fire Department.

Her father, Mike Vrabel, died December 18, 1993.

She is survived by her mother, Sophie Hunchuck Vrabel of Masontown, Pa.; her beloved husband, William L. Rankin; sisters: Judith L. Vrabel Arter and her husband, George Arter, of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Cynthia “Cindy” Vrabel Keener and her husband, Donald Keener, of Masontown, Pa., and Marlene A. Vrabel of Masontown, Pa.; nieces: Kimberly Arter and Margaret Arter both of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Jessica and her husband, Brian Bucceri, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Amanda Keener of Masontown, Pa.; and great niece, Mellissa Smith of Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church on 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA 15461 today, Monday, March 24, until 10:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, with Rev. Fr. Donald Trexler as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Leckrone.

Visitation was also held Sunday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

McClellandtown Fire Department conducted a Service in the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Parish Wake Service was held Sunday at 8:45 p.m.
