Someone broke into a mobile home owned by Harry Johnson of Waynesburg and stole three “Highlander” television series swords and a Christmas tin filled with coins between 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, state police at Waynesburg said.

State police at Waynesburg said someone broke into the Tollgate Run Road home of Richard May and stole a DVD player, a bottle of wine, several other bottles of liquor and a container filled with coins between 8:10 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Three hurt in crash

State police said Alan Guesman, 20, of Rices Landing and his passenger, Dillon Nelson, 15, of Jefferson, suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday at 5:10 p.m. at Main and Third streets in Mather.

Police said Bonnie Smitley, 35, of Mather also was injured, but her passenger, Angelina Palone, 16, of Waynesburg, was not.

The Jefferson Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company assisted at the scene.

Eric David Rockwell, 22, of Uniontown suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 2:45 p.m. Friday on Route 40, west of Uniontown.

Hit-and-run probed

State police said someone driving a red Honda Prelude struck a utility pole, landmarking stone, shrub and fence Saturday at 3:24 a.m. at 624 Morgantown Road and fled the scene.

Neither Arnold Cupp, 86, of Uniontown nor Jeremy Stepanik, 21, of Uniontown was injured in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon at the intersection of Connellsville Street and Cycle Road.

DUI taskforce

The Greene County DUI Taskforce conducted a roving patrol Friday and Saturday, stopping 37 cars and issuing six traffic citations.

Police made no DUI arrests, but one traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Craig Eddy, 28, a fugitive from justice in Texas who was wanted for theft of a firearm and failure to appear in court. He was arraigned before District Justice Lou Dayich and placed in the Greene County Jail in lieu of bond.

The task force includes members of the Waynesburg, Cumberland Township and Carmichaels police departments.

City police said Max Harlan Seibert, 26, of 781 York Run Road was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana at 12:28 a.m. Saturday after officers stopped him on South Street.

City police found a gray Pontiac Parisienne abandoned on Wilson Street around 4:20 p.m. Friday. Police said the vehicle was not reported stolen, but the vehicle had a dead plate, the ignition column was damaged and it appeared to be started with a screwdriver.

Uniontown Hospital security told city police two women received phone calls from an unknown man who said he was with the Uniontown Hospital and wanted to conduct a survey. Hospital security said no one from the hospital conducted a phone survey.

According to state police, Robert Haragos, 43, of Hopwood was cited for public drunkenness after he was found to be under the influence of alcohol in the parking lot of the Oliver Heights Apartments Saturday at 10:43 p.m.

According to state police, charges were filed against James Balog, 51, of Greensboro for driving while under the influence of alcohol, after Balog crashed along Masontown-Ronco Road Thursday at 10:10 p.m.

State police said someone stole items from a vehicle at 817 Solomon’s Circle sometime on Friday night or Saturday morning.

Vehicles crash

State police said vehicles operated by a Masontown girl and William Bowman, also of Masontown, crashed at the intersection of Route 8021 and Route 21 Thursday at 12:55 p.m. Police said the girl and another juvenile passenger sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Janet Wang told state police that someone stole a tiller from her 16 Baker St. residence sometime on Mar. 17 or 18.

State police said Kenneth Hunyady of Ronco was allegedly struck by a German Township man Friday at 9:20 p.m. at a Flynn Street residence.

Man charged

State police said charges were filed before District Justice Robert Breakiron against Samuel Jones of Connellsville for striking Greg Pritts, also of Connellsville, during an argument Friday along Breakiron Road between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m.

ATV stolen

According to state police, someone stole a white 1999 Polaris Scrambler all-terrain vehicle owned by Greg Shaulis, 29, of Mount Pleasant from a Welty Road residence between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. Saturday.

Vehicles collide

State police said vehicles operated by Perry Leonard, 54, of Connellsville and Terry Ruff, 30, of Acme crashed at the intersection of Route 982 and Route 2006 Thursday at 5:40 a.m.

Leonard sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to Presbyterian Hospital for treatment, police said.

Vehicles crash

According to state police, vehicles operated by Maynard Blackburn, 73 and Martha Herod, 58, crashed along Route 21 Saturday at 11:58 a.m.

A passenger in Herod’s vehicle, Shelia Whitlatch, 32, sustained minor injuries, police said.

Man charged

State police said charges of simple assault and harassment were filed before District Justice Randy Abraham against Terry Bane, 26, of Uniontown after he allegedly struck a 7-year-old juvenile with a hockey stick several times in the back and buttocks and also struck Jacquelyn Benucci, 26, of Uniontown in the face. The incident occurred at 409 Village of Searights Saturday at 2:02 p.m., police said. Bane is being held in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $50,000 cash bond.

Windows broken

Robert Workman of Smithfield told state police that someone broke two windows and slashed a rear tire of his vehicle as it was parked outside his 121 Bowood Road residence between 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

Washington Twp.

Motorcycle crash

According to Fayette County 911, someone operating a motorcycle crashed along Route 201 and had to be flown to Pittsburgh for medical treatment Sunday at 2:46 p.m. There were no further details available at press time.
