Lula Robison Barnes, age 100 years, a resident since 2000 of Carmichaels, Pa., formerly of Artemas, Pa., born in Piney Creek, Mann Township, Bedford County, Pa., who owned and operated a country grocery store for 35 years with her husband, James Oscar Barnes, in Inglesmith Pa., and during her lifetime had seen 18 United States Presidents serve this country, died at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2003 in the home of her daughter, Mary E. Hartley. Surviving are two daughters: Mary E. Barnes Hartley with whom she made her home in Carmichaels and Alverta Z. Barnes Hall of San Diego, California; grandchildren: Marlene DeFrank of Rices Landing, Pa., Randy Hall of San Diego, California, Sandy Ferraro of Temecula, California, Lenny Hall of Spring Valley, California, Roger R. Morris of Everett, Pa., and James L. Morris of Bend, Oregon; seven great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Lula was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at Dalla Valle Funeral Service Inc., 22 West Main Street, Everett, Pa.

Local arrangements are by the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Route 88, Carmichaels, Pa.
