March 25, 2003 Uniontown offers programs
The Uniontown Hospital and its home health care agency, Fayette Home Care, will offer the following community education programs in March:
– The Safe Sitter Course offers youth over the age of 11 the opportunity to learn safe babysitting techniques from registered nurses. There are two sessions. Each session is 6.5 hours. The dates will be announced. A $10 fee is charged to cover the cost of educational materials. To register, call 724-430-3333.
– APPRISE is a State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) for older Pennsylvanians. The Pennsylvania Department of Aging created APPRISE to help older Pennsylvanians understand their health insurance options and make sound decisions about what is best for them. For assistance with Medicare-related health insurance questions, call the Fayette HealthLine at 724-430-3333 for an appointment with an APPRISE counselor.
Coupon booklets available
The Uniontown Hospital Auxiliary will sell the 2003 Restaurant Coupon Booklets in the hospital’s Main Lobby from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
The 2003 booklet features discounts at 43 area restaurants and are available for $20 each.
Book fair slated
The Uniontown Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a book fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 9-10, in the hospital’s Main Lobby.
This book fair will feature new, premium hardcover books with savings up to 70 percent off the retail price. The public is invited to attend.
Blood drive set
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at Frazier High School in Perryopolis.
