Helen C. Matson Niemela, 94, of Belle Vernon, Pa., who was born in Fayette City, Pa., died Tuesday, March 25, 2003 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc., Carroll Township, Washington County, Pa. She is survived by her son, Oliver C. Niemela and wife, Norma Jean, of New Providence, New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Jane Niemela of Perryopolis, Pa.; brother-in-law, Everett Niemela and wife, Virginia, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sister-in-law, Helen Niemela Sphar of Charleroi, Pa.; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Friends will be received at the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home Inc., 334 Main Street, Fayette City, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, March 28, until the service at 1 p.m.
