Robert F. Murphy, 67, of Bruceton Mills, West Virginia, died Monday, March 24, 2003 due to injuries resulting from an automobile accident. The son of William H. Murphy and Mae Metheny Murphy Burkholder, he was born April 18, 1935 in Bruceton Mills.

Robert was a member and Deacon of Salem Church of The Brethren, member of Bruceton Town Council, Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department, and Bruceton Community Ambulance Service, and 1951 graduate of Bruceton High School.

“Bob” is survived by his wife, Elsie Jane Wade Murphy; daughter and spouse, Cathy and Paul Hager of Farmington, Pa.; two sons and spouses: Robert and Tammie Murphy of Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and Neal and Christine Murphy of Morgantown, West Virginia; two brothers: William Murphy of Morgantown and Mark Murphy of Bruceton Mills; three sisters: June Murphy of Uniontown, Pa., Sarah Liston of Kingwood, West Virginia, and Barbara Willis of Jacksonville, Florida; two stepsisters: Sherie Hockenberry of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Robin Fike of Markleysburg, Pa.; six grandchildren: Amber Murphy Richardson, Bobby Murphy, Josh Hager, Ashley Hager, Zachary Murphy and Zoe Murphy; and great granddaughters: Ashley and Laura Richardson.

Friends may call at the CARL R. SPEAR FUNERAL HOME, Brandonvile (Bruceton Mills), West Virginia, today from 2 to 9 p.m.

Visitation continues Thursday, March 27, in Salem Church of The Brethren, Bruceton Mills, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. with Pastor Donnie Savage officiating.

Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.

Family requests memorial contributions to Salem Church of The Brethren, Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department or Bruceton Community Ambulance Service.
