Andrew J. Liptak
Andrew Joseph Liptak, 69, of Uniontown, Pa., died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Uniontown.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph Andrew Liptak and Anna Bobish Liptak and his wife, Rosalie Myrna Filek Liptak.
Surviving are a son, Technical Sergeant Andrew Karsten Liptak and his wife, Karen of Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska; a granddaughter, Arielle Kathleen Liptak; a brother, Nicholas Liptak and his wife, Janice of Dunbar, Pa.; three sisters, Barbara Berdar and her husband, Frank and Donna Stashick and her husband, Don, all of Uniontown, and Kathleen Suhar and her husband, Joseph of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a special nephew, Derek Berdar, who helped him around his home and shared his love of hunting; several other nieces and nephews; and several good friends, Jim Solomon, Greg and Terri Hamborski, Jerry and Sandy Martin and John and Rita Detrick.
Mr. Liptak was an electrician employed by U.S. Steel at the Clairton Works for 30 years, had served honorably in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Fayette County Horseshoe Pitchers Association, was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, was an avid bowler and hunter, and enjoyed spending his summer vacations at Ben Eoine Beach Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
