Jacqueline Lee Hardy, 78, of Greensburg, Pa., formerly of Beallsville, Pa., died at 11:22 p.m., on Tuesday, March 25, 2003, in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Miss Hardy was a graduate of Brownsville High School. She received her B.S. Degree from California State College, now California University of PA, and her Masters Degree in Library Science from Carnegie Institute of Technology, now Carnegie Mellon University.

She was a librarian in the Monongahela and Belle Vernon School Districts and also taught Biology and Chemistry in the Burgettstown Schools, and later in the Brownsville School District.

Miss Hardy planned and implemented a state required course of study at the California State College to train Elementary School Librarians. She was associated with the Carnegie Library in Oakland (Pittsburgh) as a children’s librarian.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Donald (Patricia) Butts of Ligionier, Pa.; two nieces; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St., Beallsville, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held on Saturday March 29, 2003.
