Glenn O. Mundell
Glenn O. Mundell, 81, of Greensboro R.D. (Mundell Hollow), Pa., died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at his home, followed a lengthy illness.
Born Sept. 12, 1921, in Dunkard Township, Greene County, Pa., he was the son of the late Clyde and Nancy Cumpston Mundell.
Glenn was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, where he served as Flight Engineer on the B-24 and B-29 Bombers for five years. After the war, he worked for Chrysler Corporation in Highland Park, Mich., as an engineer at the road test garage for 25 years, until his retirement in 1980, following which he returned to his home in Dunkard Township.
He was a Methodist Christian, and a member of the former Shordan Chapel United Methodist Church near Bobtown.
Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia Wise Mundell, who he married on Jan. 19, 1945, and who cared for him so tenderly during his illness; and several nieces and nephews, including Frances Titus of Bobtown and her family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Mundell.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday until 2 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Fred Tomlinson officiating. Interment follows in Garards Fort Cemetery, Garards Fort, Pa. Military rites will be accorded at the grave by the American Legion Post 400 of Carmichaels, Pa.
