Mary Skoloski

Mary Skoloski of Republic, Pa., passed away Monday, March 24, 2003, in Brownsville General Hospital.

She was born in Republic, a daughter of the late Frank J. Pastalaniec and Cecilia Zgtobeski Pastalaniec.

Mary was a member of the Church of the Madonna of Cardale, and a retired teacher from Redstone and Brownsville Area School District.

She was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a member of the Church of the Madonna Christian Mothers, the Rosary Society, DCCW, AARP, a life member of the Fayette County Public School Employees, Brownsville BPW, Republic American Legion Post 590, and a Charter member of the American Legion Post of Germany.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Skoloski in 1965; and a son, Joseph Skoloski on March 29, 1997.

Surviving are a sister, Irene Ferchak of Beallsville, Md.; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNRAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday until 9:30 a.m., when a Prayer Service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m., in the Church of The Madonna, with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Bugay as celebrant. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, where Military Services will be accorded by Hopwood AMVETS Post 103. A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3 p.m.
