Charles L. Works, age 68, of Leckrone-Masontown Road, Masontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, March 28,2003 in his residence. He was born January 24, 1935 in Uniontown, Pa., son of Bernard Works and Ethel Conaway Works.

He was a retired Painter and an avid fisherman and hunter.

Charles was preceded in death by a brother, William Works on December 5, 2002, a sister, Elsie Guthrie, and his parents.

He is survived by three children: Mrs. Winona R. “Wendy” Garden and husband, Rick, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., son, Charles L. Works Jr. and his wife, Rita, a very devoted daughter-in-law, of Masontown, Pa., and Lisa C. Zavatchen and her special friend, Gary George, of Connellsville, Pa.; two granddaughters: Jamie and husband Thomas Hoff, and Michelle Haragos; six sisters: Lynda Brown of Collier, Pa., Connie O’Brien, Delanie Kalivoda and Marie Heinbaugh all of Hopwood, Pa., Shirley Potter of Ravenna, Ohio, Thelma Carlson of Uniontown, Pa.; and two brothers: Bernard Works Jr. of Hopwood, Pa., and Thomas J. Hoak of Hopwood, Pa.

Friends will be received in the JAMES D. BARNETT FUNERAL HOME, 196 West Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, March 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charles O’Brien, his nephew, officiating.
