Glenn O. Mundell
Glenn O. Mundell, 81, of Mundell Hollow, Greensboro R. D., Pa., died Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at his home following a lengthy illness. Born September 12, 1921 in Dunkard Township, Greene County, Pa., he was the son of Clyde and Nancy Cumpston Mundell.
Glenn was a United States Air Force Veteran of World War II where he served as Flight Engineer on the B-24 and B-29 Bombers for five years.
After the war he worked for Chrysler Corporation in Highland Park, Michigan, as an Engineer at the Road Test Garage for 25 years until his retirement in 1980 following which he returned to his home in Dunkard Township.
He was a Methodist Christian and member of the former Shordan Chapel United Methodist Church near Bobtown.
Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia Wise Mundell, whom he married January 19, 1945 and who cared for him so tenderly during his illness; and several nieces and nephews including Frances Titus of Bobtown and her family.
A brother, Joseph Mundell, and parents preceded him in death.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, 501 Morgantown Street, Point Marion, Pa., today, March 30, until 2 p.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Fred Tomlinson officiating.
Interment follows in Garards Fort Cemetery, Garards Fort, Pa., where Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 400 of Carmichaels, Pa.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
