Michael “Mike” DeFigio

Michael “Mike” DeFigio, 90, a lifelong resident of Republic, Pa., passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born September 29, 1912 in Republic, Pa., son of Nicholas DeFigio and Dominica “Mae” DeLeggi DeFigio.

“Mike” was an avid baseball player. In 1954 he was elected to the Big 10 Fayette County Baseball Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Alfred and Daniel DeFigio, sister, Julia Franks, half-brother, Tony DeFigio, half-sisters, Jenny DeCarlo and Mary Roman, and parents.

Surviving are a sister, Ethel Andreoni of Gahanna, Ohio, and formerly of Merrittstown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no public visitation. Interment will be private.

Memorials may be made in Mike’s name to: Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktowne Heights, NY 10598.

Arrangements are under direction of the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, Republic.
