Bank schedules job fairs to find employees
National City Bank has announced a major campaign to strengthen its retail branch system in Pennsylvania, which includes 220 branch offices in 19 western Pennsylvania counties. In Uniontown, Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Washington, Grove City and Erie, a series of job fairs will be conducted in May to fill the redefined position of branch manager, and the new position of licensed financial specialist (LFS). These openings will be filled throughout the bank’s 19-county western Pennsylvania service area.
“The new positions will provide the competitive advantages to focus on customers, grow our customer base and bolster our long-standing commitment to the retail line of business,’ Sharon Thompson, vice president/regional manager, explained.
“With the LFS position, our branches will have available a full line of products and services – including mutual funds and annuities through representatives of NatCity Investments Inc., National City’s full service brokerage subsidiary as well as personal banking, mortgage and small business banking products.
“We have elevated the role of branch manager in our retail system and created a lucrative compensation package with the ability for a branch manager’s career to progress to the level of senior vice president, while serving at the same branch. Our bank is literally providing the environment for branch managers to run their branches as though they own them.”
The branch manager will target customer satisfaction, core deposit growth and revenue generation. Essential competencies include superior leadership, talent management skills, and the ability to build and leverage local relationships. The branch manager role will position the bank for long-term success, and long-term growth in the community. The new LFS will have a “very attractive variable compensation program,’ she said. They will be responsible for selling a full range of National City Bank products as well as investment and insurance products, including mutual funds and annuities through NatCity Investments. Requirements include superior sales skills, a focus on customers, and the ability to work as part of a team. NASD Series, 6, 63, and state insurance licenses are preferred, although NatCity will provide the means to complete these certifications for the right candidates.
The National City job fair schedule in this region is as follows:
– Noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Uniontown Mall, West Main Street, Uniontown, for licensed financial specialist (LFS) positions and new branch manager positions.
