Clean-up day set The Downtown Uniontown Business District Authority is holding a clean-up day on May 10 beginning at 9 a.m. The authority wants business and residents to volunteer to clean up downtown before the summer tourist season starts. The authority is asking businesses to clean up around their buildings and volunteers are needed to clean the main roads through town and other public areas. Organizations wishing to assist should call the authority at 724-430-2909.

Charles Keith Haller, the passenger who was extricated from a car that was involved in a Tuesday afternoon accident at the Five Corners intersection in Uniontown, was listed in fair condition Wednesday in Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was flown there by medical helicopter from Uniontown Hospital following the 3:47 p.m. accident. Haller was a passenger in a car driven by Michael Carroll of West Virginia. The other driver was Joshua Tressler of Adah. Both drivers were treated for chest injuries at Uniontown Hospital, according to city police, who are investigating the accident. The Uniontown Fire Department Uniontown Fireman’s Ambulance Service also responded to the accident.
Blood drives planned
The Fayette County Unit of the American Red Cross will hold the following blood drives:
– Noon to 6 p.m. today at the Perryopolis Fire Hall.
– 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Uniontown Hospital.
– Noon to 6 p.m. at Third Presbyterian Church in Uniontown.
