Anna S. Komanecky
Anna Serafin Komanecky, age 93, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2003 in Mount Macrina Manor. She was born April 20, 1910 in Edenborn, Pa., the daughter of Andrew Serafin and Mary Vasilisin Serafin.
Anna was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Uniontown and its Marian Women’s Club, The Ladies Guild, and St. John’s Senior Citizens, and a Member-At-Large of The Garden Club of Ohio.
Her husband, Andrew Komanecky, died November 27, 1976. Also deceased are a grandson, Craig N. Komanecky, a great granddaughter, Rebecca Sandorf, a great grandson, Zachary Ronald Johnson, two brothers, George and Michael Serafin, a sister, Mary Duritsa, and parents.
She is survived by her Children: Roberta A. Sandorf and husband, Robert, of Richfield, Ohio, Rita Mahoney and husband, Regis, of Hagerstown, Maryland, A. Nick Komanecky and wife, Joann, of Ithaca, New York, Rosemary J. Johnson and husband, Ronald, of Uniontown, Pa., and Richard J. Komanecky and wife, Kathy, of Strongsville, Ohio; 11 Grandchildren: Matthew Sandorf and wife Karen, Douglas Sandorf and wife Molly, Laureen Lipscomb and husband Frank, Beth Wright and husband Bryan, Mark Komanecky and wife Jennifer Thumm, Brian Komanecky, Julie R. Marinelli and husband P. J., Susan Johnson Vacha and husband Chad, Andrea Komanecky, Leanna Komanecky and Eric Komanecky; seven Great Grandchildren: Bill Sandorf, Bradley Sandorf, Matthew Lipscomb, Bethany Lipscomb, Nicholas Wright, Natalie Wright, and Alexander Komanecky; two Brothers: Andrew Serafin of Uniontown, Pa., and John Serafin of Washington, D.C.; three Sisters: Anna Hoholik of Star Junction, Pa., Helen Liptock of Bittner, Pa., and Marguerite Palovchalk of Uniontown, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. and Monday, May 12, until 10:30 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held.
Divine Liturgy follows at 11 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, with Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Wesdock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
Parastas will be held in the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
