Woman found guilty A Glenshaw woman was found guilty of driving under the influence Thursday following a jury trial in Fayette County Court.

Carole Jean Slamka, 49, of Glenshaw was found guilty of two DUI-related charges, including DUI – incapable of safe driving and DUI – having a blood alcohol level of .10 percent or greater. Slamka was charged by state police for an incident that occurred on July 5, 2002 in the parking lot of Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. At the time of the incident, police said Slamka failed two field sobriety tests.

Verdict reached

A Fayette County jury returned a mixed verdict Thursday in a drug case involving a Brownsville man.

Justin Lavar Thomas, 24, of Hunters Ridge, was found guilty in Fayette County Court on three counts of drug possession and not guilty of two counts of drug possession with intent to deliver. Thomas was arrested on May 23, 2002 by Uniontown City Police following a traffic stop.

Thomas, a passenger in the vehicle, was discovered in possession of cocaine and marijuana following the traffic stop.
