Thomas J. Elias Jr.
Thomas J. Elias Jr., age 87, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 6, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born October 1, 1915 son of Thomas Elias and Mary Joseph Elias.
“Tom” was a member of St. George Maronite Catholic Church and also American Legion Post 51 both in Uniontown.
He was a Veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army in the Military Police.
Four sisters, Emiline Elias, Betty Elias, Elizabeth Elias, Carol Elias, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by these brothers and sisters: George Elias and Mary Williams and her husband Frank all of Uniontown, John Elias of West Newton, Pa., Anne Yankoski and her husband Tony of Florida, Joseph Elias and his wife Ann, Francis Elias and his wife Florence, Richard Elias, Kathryn Elias, and Helen Chiola and her husband Tony all of Detroit, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 10, until 10 a.m. at which time a Blessing Service will be held.
Divine Liturgy follows at 10:30 a.m. in St. George Maronite Catholic Church, Lebanon Terrace, with Rev. Fr. Joseph David as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, where Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 51 and North Union V. F. W. Post 8543.
