Ann A. Fiffick Kurta, age 90, of Uniontown, Pa., died Saturday, May 10, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born June 5, 1912, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of Andrew M. Fiffick and Johanna Franchock Fiffick.

Ann was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church and owned and operated Kurta Cleaners for 30 years with her husband.

During World War II she was affiliated with the Columbia, South Carolina, Army Base Post Office.

Ann was loving, warm, and hard working and loved her Family above all else!

She was preceded in death by six brothers, an infant brother John, Steven, Andrew, Rev. Fr. John, Joseph and Charles Fiffick, two brothers-in-law, Andy Kurta and Paul Smorada, three sisters-in-law, Catherine Fiffick, Mary Fiffick, and Kathryn Fiffick, and her parents.

She is survived her husband of 68 years, John M. Kurta, whom she married February 17, 1935; four sisters: Marie Kurta of Valley City, Ohio, Josephine Smorada, Helen Fiffick, and Pauline Sroka and husband, Ted, all of Uniontown, Pa.; many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, May 13, until 9:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, North Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, Uniontown.

Parish Wake Service will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m.
