Sullivan Angelo Jr., age 72, of Masontown, Pa., passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born March 9, 1931 in Leckrone, Pa., son of Sullivan Angelo Sr. and Carrie Shipley Angelo.

Mr. Angelo was a member of Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Smithfield, Pa., and actively served there as Church Trustee.

He was retired from United States Steel Corporation’s Maple Creek Mine in Bentleyville, Pa., and was a member of United Mine Workers of America District 5 Local 1248.

His first wife, Violet Rosetta Angelo, a daughter, Carrie Elizabeth Angelo Strosnider, a stepson, Jonny Hill, four sisters, Ruth Hull, Iona Conway, Florence Hull, and Pearl Palko, four brothers, Russell, Donald, Clyde and Ralph Angelo, and parents preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores J. Angelo of Masontown, Pa.; these children: Sherry Chipps and husband, Russell, of Bobtown, Pa., Rev. Rose Bircher and husband, Albert, of McClellandtown, Pa., Roger Angelo and wife, Patricia, of Latrobe, Pa., Thelma Hagner and husband, Richard, of Loucks Hill, Leckrone, Pa., Sullivan Angelo III of Leckrone, Clarice Ribniscky of Merrittstown, Pa., Anthony Angelo and wife, Nancy, of Uniontown, Pa., Candace Hall and husband, Lesslie, of McClellandtown, David Angelo and wife, Judy, of McClellandtown, Tammy Angelo of Leckrone, Danny Angelo of Latrobe, Pa., Christopher Angelo and wife, Rebecca, of Point Marion, Pa., and Samuel Engle and wife, Patricia, of New Jersey; these stepchildren: David Ray Hill, William Hill, Donald Hill, Terry Hill, Kathy Hill, Coleena Eutsey and Mary Ann Schortiger; 39 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two brothers: Elroy “Bud” Angelo of Fairchance, Pa., and Clarence Angelo of Uniontown; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the H. DAVID McELROY FUNERAL HOME, 803 Main Street, McClellandtown, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 13, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Additional visitation will be held in Apostolic Lighthouse Church, Smithfield, Pa., on Wednesday, May 14, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of Service. Rev. Terry Upton will officiate.

Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New Geneva, Pa.
