German Twp. delays vote

GERMAN TWP. – During a brief meeting Tuesday, the township supervisors tabled the adoption of the state mandated emergency management plan until further review, supervisor Dan Shimshock said. According to Shimshock, the mandate is finalized but is tabled until township residents have had a chance to review the plan.

He said that a copy is available at the municipal building.

The supervisors also conducted the following business:

– Announced that the township will put out bids for leveling course and seal coat for the following township roads: Club Sofia Road, Macar Road, Windy Hill, Ronco Road, Desko Road, Duff Hollow, Crossview, Footedale-Lambert Road, Firehouse Road, Winona Lane, Lewis Drive and S & T Drive.

– Heard from area residents about poor road conditions throughout the township due to drainage problems and potholes.

– Thanked state Rep. Rich Kasunic for supplying a $20,000 grant for the Ronco water line replacement project.

– Received an update concerning the proposal for the Brown’s Run Trail, which is now awaiting approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Penn-DOT).
