Jerry Volansky
Jerry Volansky, age 65, of 3 Maple Street, Masontown, PA 15461 died Monday, May 12, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa. He was born May 17, 1937 in Grays Landing, Pa.
Jerry retired from the United States Navy at the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class with 21 years service and then worked at Sensus Technologies Inc., Uniontown, Pa.
He was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church, American Legion Post 423, Italo-American Club, Fish & Game Club, and Pals Club all in Masontown.
His mother, Genevieve Helmick Volansky, and a son, John L. Volansky, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his father, John “Charlie Boy” Volansky of Grays Landing, Pa.; his wife, Betty Swaney Volansky; three children: Kimberly Volansky Py and her husband, Alan Py, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jerry Volansky Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Masontown, Pa., and Tonya Lee Volansky Cox and her husband, Devon Cox, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three sisters: Dossie and her husband, Craig Mouton, of New Orleans, Louisiana, Betty Jo Volansky Keener of Orville, Ohio, and Nancy L. and her husband, Wade Glosson, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a brother, Joseph Volansky of Masontown and his friend, Ann; and five grandchildren: Brittany Volansky, Troy Volansky, Tori Cox, Tyler Cox and Summer Volansky.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church on 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, May 16, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, with Rev. Fr. James F. Bump as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by Masontown V. F. W and American Legion posts.

Parish Wake Service will be held this afternoon.
Visitation was also held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
