John L. Greathouse
John L. Greathouse, 57 years, of Warren, Ohio, and formerly of Fairchance, Pa., died at 4 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2003 in his home of a heart attack. He was born April 29, 1946 in Fairchance, Pa., son of Joseph F. Greathouse and Ruth B. McDonald Greathouse.
John had lived in the Warren area since 1970 coming from Pennsylvania and was employed by General Motors Lordstown Complex for 32 years as an Inspector.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also enjoyed Bowling and Golf and golfed on several area leagues.
John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren!
His parents and his sister, Irene Friend, and her husband, Orval Friend, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda L. Monteith Greathouse, whom he married on May 13, 1967; two sons: Jeffrey Greathouse and his wife, Jennifer, of Warren, Ohio, and John Greathouse and his wife, Leslie, of Santa Cruz, California; five grandchildren: Joshua Greathouse and Jessica Greathouse of Warren, Ohio, Olivia Greathouse, Jack Greathouse and Nolan Greathouse of Santa Cruz, California; five brothers: Joseph C. Greathouse and wife, Connie, of Key Largo, Florida, Emil Greathouse and wife Marie, Roger L. Greathouse and wife Debbie, Terry D. Greathouse and wife LeeAnn, and Danny E. Greathouse and wife Melinda all of Fairchance, Pa.; two sisters: Donna Jean Kloock and husband, Martin, of Mentor, Ohio, and Carolyn Dutkewycz and husband, Francis, of Fairchance, Pa.; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Agnes Monteith of Smithfield, Pa.
The Family will receive Friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today (Friday, May 16) until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. William D. Rodahaver officiating.
Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
Visitation was also held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
