Second Annual Spring Brush Arbor Gospel Sing set May 23-26
The Rev. Dale Rexrode expects up to 4,000 people will gather for the second annual Spring Brush Arbor Gospel Sing in Fairchance May 23-26 at the Free Methodist Campground. They are coming to see evangelist Quinton Mills.
“He preaches and sings. He’s a very good evangelist, as well as a singer,’ said Rev. Rexrode about Mills who has appeared in this area for the past 10 to 12 years.
“He’ll pack the place for four days. We’ll have 800 to 900 people each day. Probably between 3,500 and 4,000 people will gather for the four days.’
Mills, who lives in Hollister, N.C., has also appeared at the August Brush Arbor, which is also held at the Free Methodist Campground in Fairchance.
This will be the 23rd year for the August event, which has been so successful that the spring event was added last year.
Asked why so many people come to see Mills, Rev. Rexrode said, “He’s a very humble person for the talents God has given him. And he’s anointed. …This is really a ministry, not only entertainment.’
According to his biography, Mills is “a Native American Indian who was converted to the Lord in 1972 after many years of addiction to alcohol, drugs and rock music.’
The biography reported Mills is known as a prolific writer, a dynamic singer and a powerful anointed evangelist. In the mid-1980s, Mills wrote and released “I Found the Lily In My Valley,’ which catapulted him to national attention.
“Since then, Quinton has written and released many other hits with such popularity that it has made him one of America’s favorite gospel singers,’ the biography reported.
Mills, his wife, Pam, and their son, Gabriel, travel nationally ministering, singing and sharing personal-deliverance testimony from drugs and alcohol.
The Spring Brush Arbor Gospel Sing will be held daily at 7 p.m. at the Free Methodist Campground, located along Route 857 in Fairchance. For more information, phone Rev. Rexrode at 724-329-1681.
