UNITED MINE WORKERS OF AMERICA, Local 1248, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Footedale Fire Hall. SMOCK FIRE DEPT. LADIES AUXILIARY will hold a grocery bingo at 3 p.m. Sunday at the social hall.

ST. MARY R.C. CHURCH, Uniontown, will hold a pasta dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Meals are $6 for adults; $3.50 for children. Chinese auction will also be held. Public is invited.

GREAT MEADOWS GARDEN CLUB will hold its annual perennial plan sale Saturday from 8 .m. to 1 p.m. at Braddock’s Inn, Route 40, Farmington, during National Pike Days. Rain date is May 24. Prices will range from $1 to $4.

UNITED WAR VETERANS ASSOCIATION of Uniontown will hold its annual Memorial Day service on May 26 at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, North Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown. Commander Vic Kozares of the United War Veterans will be master of ceremony. Event starts at 10:30 a.m. Host post is VFW Post 47, Uniontown. Following the ceremony, a memorial service at 11:45 a.m. will also take place at the Dough Boy statue at George C. Marshall Plaza, five-corners, across from the VFW Post 47.

ALBERT GALLATIN HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1983 will hold a 20-year class reunion-planning meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday at the home of Ruth Smith graham. For more information, call 724-569-0534.

NORTH UNION HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1953 reunion committee will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Amvets Post in Hopwood. All classmates are invited to attend.

BROWNSVILLE ELKS 1344, 214 Water St., Brownsville, will hold a steak dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Price is $10 per meal. Take-out orders will be available. For more information, call 724-785-5015.

DAWSON-VANDERBILT LIONS CLUB will hold a grocery bingo at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Dawson Volunteer Fire Hall. Admission is $3 per person. Extra cards are $1 each. The kitchen will be open. Door prizes will be awarded. Doors open at 6 p.m.

AMERICAN LEGION POST 51, Uniontown, will hold a Blue Star Banner program on May 31 at 7 p.m. at the post home, 114 N. Gallatin Ave. Families with loved ones deployed in the Iraq, Kuwait or other war-zone areas, are asked to register by calling Joe T. Joseph at 724-438-8688. All registered individuals will receive a free Blue Start banner to proudly fly in support of the troops.

HOLY RESURRECTION ORTHODOX CHURCH, 118 Main St., West Brownsville, will hold a cabbage roll dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children. Take-out orders will be available. A bake sale and giveaway will also be held.
