Thomas E. DeBolt, 92, of Connellsville, Pa., died Thursday, May 15, 2003 in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa. He was born December 25, 1910 in Connellsville, Pa., son of William E. DeBolt and Clara R. McDowell DeBolt.

“Tom” was a lifetime member of Greenwood United Methodist Church, Connellsville. He was very active in the Church and held many offices throughout his life. He had the distinction of being in the first Confirmation Class after the Church was built.

He graduated from Connellsville High School Class of 1928.

He was a Veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army, wounded in the Battle of Normandy, and recipient of the Purple Heart.

“Tom” was a retired Manager from West Penn Power Company (now Allegheny Power).

He was also a member of B. P. O. Elks No. 503, Connellsville V. F. W. Post 21, and Connellsville United Methodist Men.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Morris DeBolt in 1944, four brothers, John W. DeBolt in 1915, Clarence I. DeBolt in 1944, George O. DeBolt in 1981, and H. Melvin DeBolt in 1992, a sister, Virginia DeBolt in 1923, and his parents.

“Tom” is survived by his wife, Susan A. Arnold DeBolt, to whom he would have been married 55 years on June 1, 2003; five sisters: Margaret Sanzone of Connellsville, Ethel Yeager and her husband, Jack, of Connellsville, Dorothy Sieber of Hamburg, New York, Betty Sandusky and her husband, Fred, of Connellsville, and Claralee James and her husband, Jack, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and three brothers: Harold DeBolt of Connellsville, Charles O. DeBolt and his wife, Bette, of Baltimore, Maryland, and James F. Debolt and his wife, Sally, of Connellsville.

Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, today from Noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Additional viewing will take place on Monday, May 19, in Greenwood United Methodist Church, corner of South 9th and West Green streets, Connellsville, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Patty Comini-Miller officiating.

Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.

Connellsville United Methodist Men will conduct a Memorial Service in the Funeral Home today at 7 p.m.

Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
