MH/MR board to meet The next meeting of the Fayette County Mental Health/Mental Retardation Advisory Board will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Calloway Room (ground level) at the Fayette County Health Center, 100 New Salem Road, Uniontown. The meeting is open to the public.
Mended Hearts to meet
Mountain State Chapter 209 of Mended Hearts Inc. invites the public to attend its meeting tonight at the John E. Jones Conference Center at the WVU Health Sciences Center (the old hospital).
Jennifer Arrington will speak on “Spirituality and Healing.” Social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.

Programs offered
The Uniontown Hospital and its home health care agency, Fayette Home Care, will offer the following community education programs in May:
– The Safe Sitter Course offers youth over the age of 11 the opportunity to learn safe babysitting techniques from registered nurses. There are two sessions. Each session is 6.5 hours. The dates will be announced. A $10 fee is charged to cover the cost of educational materials. To register, call 724-430-3333.
– APPRISE is a State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) for older Pennsylvanians. The Pennsylvania Department of Aging created APPRISE to help older Pennsylvanians understand their health insurance options and make sound decisions about what is best for them. For assistance with your Medicare-related health insurance questions, call the Fayette HealthLine for an appointment with an APPRISE counselor at 724-430-3333.
