Lloyd J. McAllister, 82, of Fairchance, Pa., died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1920, in Fairchance, Pa., son of the late George Clinton McAllister and Julia Wolfe McAllister.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Sara Belle McAllister, Bessie McAllister, Ethel Honse and Margaret Cole; one brother, Walter McAllister; and one granddaughter, Kimberly McAllister.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Irene Rockwell McAllister; two sons, Lloyd K. McAllister and wife, Karen of Fairchance, and Ronald D. McAllister and wife, Cathy of Clarksville, Pa.; six grandchildren, Kerry McAllister, Kristie Ryczek and husband, Tom, Lloyd K. McAllister Jr., and Brandy, April Dowling, Brian McAllister and Angel Holyfield; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Spaw of Fairchance; and several nieces and nephews.

He was retired from H.C. Frick Company, at Collier Mine, was the former Police Chief of Smithfield Borough, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the Asian Theater.

Mr. McAllister attended the Fairchance Church of the Brethren.

The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, May 23, until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
