LICK HOLLOW PICNIC AREA, Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry, will open for the season on Saturday. Hours are from 11 a.m. to dusk. The area is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. NEW SALEM VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT and the New Salem American Legion will hold the annual Memorial Day parade Monday. Parade line up will begin at 8:30 a.m. on North Mill Street with the parade starting at 10 a.m. The Legion will conduct services at the honor roll following the parade. Refreshments will be available at the fire department. Anyone wishing to participate should call 724-245-7113 or 724-245-7220.
CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAS, COURT 505, Uniontown, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist School gymnasium, Jefferson Street.
JOHN F. KENNEDY MEMORIAL LEGION, California, will observe Memorial Day Monday with services at 10:15 a.m. at Smallwood Gun Club; 10:30 a.m. at the monument in Coal Center followed by the main Memorial Day service at Liberty Circle, California.
BROWNSVILLE HOSPITAL AUXILIARY will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the boardroom.
UNITED MINE WORKERS OF AMERICA LOCAL 1319 will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fairchance Union Hall, across from Shop ‘n Save.
PIONEER TRAILS CLUSTER of the United Methodist Churches, will travel to Sugarcreek, Ohio, on July 8 and 9 for “The Great Train Robbery.’ The trip will include a hobo lunch aboard the Sugarcreek Railroad, tour of an Amish school, dinner at Warthers Carving Ivory Room, and visits to Winesburg Carriage House, Railroad Depot Museum and other sites. UNIONTOWN SENIOR CITIZEN’S MONTHLY DANCE, “A Moment to Remember” and “Salute to Our Veterans’ will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday at the Uniontown VFW Post 47 hall, West Main Street.
Bill Francis Orchestra will provide music.
Refreshments will be served and door prizes awarded.
