Anna Mae Lear King, age 97, of Republic, Pa., passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2003 in Country Place Nursing Home, Crossville, Tennessee. She was born February 23, 1906 in Wickhaven, Pa., daughter of Charles Lear and Marie Frantz Lear.

Anna Mae was a member of First Christian Church, Republic, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas King in 1985, two sons, James and Donald King, a brother, Jack Lear, and her parents.

Surviving are a son, Lester King and his wife, Ruth, of Belleville, Illinois; daughters: Dolores Inis and her husband, Roy, of Crossville, Tennessee, and Donna Herring of Uniontown, Pa.; 17 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great Granddaughter.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, May 27, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Norman Hunt officiating.

Interment follows in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Mount Independence

Sarah Catherine Yealey Matthews

Sarah Catherine Yealey Matthews, 62, of Mount Independence, Lemont Furnace, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 23, 2003 from her home.

She was born June 28, 1940 in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of James E. Yealey and Sarah M. Reed Yealey.

Sarah was a Food Service Worker with the Sun Porch Restaurant, Hopwood, Pa., and a member of Church of God on Route 51, Uniontown.

A daughter, Rosalie Matthews, brother, James Yealey, and parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Matthews; children: Pamela and husband Peter Metts, Lemont Furnace, Rose and husband Jonathan Johnson, Washington, D.C., William Matthews and wife Elizabeth, Lemont Furnace, Bart Matthews and wife Sherry, Westland, Michigan, Brett Matthews and wife Emma, Lemont Furnace, and Sally Matthews, Lemont Furnace; Grandchildren: Dion Metts, Peter Metts, Brice Matthews, Evan Matthews, Logan Matthews, Kelsey Matthews and Mariah Matthews; Sisters: Vera Lubich, Connellsville, Pa., Jessie Reed of California state, Linda Wolfe and Shirley Wolfe both of Michigan; and Brothers: John Yealey, Connellsville, Harry Yealey, Altoona, Pa., and Dale Yealey of Michigan.

Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Visitation continues Tuesday, May 27, in Church of God, Route 51, Uniontown, from 10 a.m. until the Service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Elliott Leighty will officiate.

Interment will follow in Zearing-Matthews Cemetery.
