Frank Glista
Frank “Fireball” Glista, age 77, of Royal, Pa., died Friday, May 23, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born on October 2, 1925 in Royal, Pa., son of John Glista Sr. and Angela Nellie Pudmanska Glista.
He was known to many people to be a great Baseball Player. He started playing back in the early 40’s into the early 60’s in both the BIG 10 and the Fayette County League. He was drafted to play Professional Baseball for the Major League but declined the offer.
But more important he was known as a Great and Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
His wife, Eleanor Croftcheck Glista, four brothers, Andy, Joseph Sr., John and Stanley Glista, a sister, Rose Glista, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by a Daughter, Connie and her husband, Robert “Bob” Perkins, two Grandchildren, Robbie Perkins and his wife, Sheila, and Tiffany and her husband, Kris Eicher, all of Royal, Pa.; and three great Grandchildren: Justin Perkins, Jordan Eicher and Eli Eicher.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, May 27, at 9 a.m.
A Funeral Mass follows at 9:30 a.m. in St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Smock Pa., with Rev. Fr. John A. Sedlak as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
Vigil Service on Monday at 2:15 p.m.
The Rosary Confraternity of the Partner Parishes will recite the Rosary in the Funeral Home on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
