Louis Chuboy, age 79, of Star Junction, Pa., died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at 9:10 p.m. in LaFayette Manor Inc., Uniontown, Pa. He was born October 9, 1923 in Star Junction, Pa., son of Steve Chuboy and Susan Hamelly Chuboy.

Louis was a member of Calvin United Presbyterian Church in Brownsville, Pa.

He was a Veteran of World War II who served with the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Louisville from September 1943 to March 1946.

He was a member and past Commander of V. F. W. Gold Star Post 7023 and a member of American Legion Post 752 both in Perryopolis. He was also a member of Perry Sokol Club and Star Junction Fish and Game Club.

Louis was past Chief of Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Two brothers, Steve Chuboy Jr. and James Chuboy, and parents preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Viola Hojara Chuboy; three daughters: Connie Chuboy Molchan and husband, Doug Molchan, and Barbara Jones Hissom and husband, Bruce Hissom, both of Star Junction, and Carol Jones Hennessy of Rostraver Township, Pa.; 10 grandchildren: Sarah Molchan, Nick Molchan and Kate Molchan all of Star Junction, Bernadette Malinak and Camellia Pato both of Washington, Pa., Mary Matty of Monaca, Pa., Sonja Braun of Pittsburgh, Pa., Bruce Hissom of Lawrence, Massachusetts, Meghan Ward of Columbus, Ohio, and Dan Hennessy of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Gilbert R. Chuboy and wife, Marion, of Perryopolis, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 EAST Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 26, in First Christian Church, Perryopolis, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Alexander Jalso officiating and the Rev. Aleda A. Menchyk co-officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis, where Military Honors will be accorded by V. F. W. Gold Star Post 7023 and American Legion Post 752 both of Perryopolis.

Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a Service in the Funeral Home this evening at 7:30 p.m.

Visitation was also held Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
