Rev. Bump marks 25 years as priest
The Rev. James F. Bump, pastor of All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Masontown, recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. Rev. Bump, a native of Bridge-ton, N.J., was ordained to the priesthood by the late Bishop William G. Connare.
A Mass of Celebration, marking his silver jubilee, was held at All Saints Church with Rev. Bump as celebrant and the Rev. Mark Gruber as the homilist. A reception and dinner were held at All Saints Social Hall, following the Mass.
Rev. Bump’s first appointment was at St. Mary Church in Kittanning before his service as assistant chancellor and finance officer of the Diocese of Greensburg. He was an administrator of All Saints Church in Vandergrift and chaplain at St. Emme’s Monastery in Greensburg. In 1988, he was appointed pastor of St. Charles Borromeo in Suttersville.
Rev. Bump has been the pastor of All Saints in Masontown since July 1, 1997.
