FISHING REPORT

According to Keith Edwards’ Northeast Region fishing report on the Fish and Boat Commission’s web site, steelhead fishing is at its peak on Walnut Creek but clear water and large crowds have made catching them a challenge.

Boat fishermen have also been doing well, trolling just off shore.

Dennis Tubbs’ Southwest Region report indicates that trout in the 12-inch range are being caught at Duke Lake at Ryerson Station State Park in Greene County.

One angler caught a 10-plus pound walleye at Lake Somerset on a Brush Baby lure.

Anglers had been catching sauger at Grays Landing and Point Marion with one angler catching a 21-inch saugeye.

Pike have been hitting white spinners at Cranberry Glade Lake, and some anglers were picking up nice bass at the Quemahoning Reservoir.

On cooler days, anglers are catching trout on lakes and streams stocked under the Fall Stocking program.
