Rhonda Mae Hicks and Gerald (Jay) David Farkas Jr. of Arthurdale, W.Va., were united in marriage Sept. 6. The Rev. Roger Yeager officiated the service at the Arthurdale Presbyterian Church, Arthurdale, W.Va.

The bride is the daughter of Larry A. and Mary A. Hicks of Supers House Road, Smithfield. The bridegroom is the son of Gerald David and Carol Farkas of Perryopolis and Sandy and Bob Hallam of Washington.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a satin ball gown adorned with Venise lace, Sabrina off-the-shoulder neckline, natural waistline and chapel train with double bustle. A pearl and crystal tiara held a chapel-length veil.

Matron of honor was Dawna P. Hicks.

Terri Gumro was maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Lisa Farkas. Emma Kay Hicks was the flower girl.

Ron Hicks was best man. Ushers were Ivan Murphy and Chris Lyter. Hunter Hicks was ring bearer.

A reception was held at Lakeview Resort, Morgantown, W.Va.

The bride is a 1987 graduate of Fairchance-Georges High School and a 1988 graduate of West Virginia Career Institute with an A.A.S. degree.

She is employed with Allegheny Power.

The bridegroom is a 1992 graduate of Big Spring High School and a 1997 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

He served with the U.S. Army from 1992-1997. He is also employed with Allegheny Power.

The couple honeymooned at Opossum Creek Retreat at New River Gorge, W.Va.

They are residing in Arthurdale.
