Organization presents commissioners with special check
Members of the Fayette County chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees recently presented the Fayette County commissioners with a symbolic check of $2,149,148 representing the value of 129,936 volunteer hours completed by its members last year. The group plans to present a symbolic check of $151,087,814 to Gov. Rendell later, representing the value of 9,134,693 hours of volunteer service members contributed to their communities across the state last year.
