Two Connellsville residents face drug charges
CONNELLSVILLE – Two city residents were charged over the weekend after police allegedly found them with cocaine and heroin valued at approximately $2,000. Robert I. Nicholson III, 22, of 258 E. Fairview Ave., is charged with single counts of possession of drugs and possession with the intent to deliver and two counts of criminal conspiracy.
Christopher S. Nicholson, 20, of 106 Trader Ave., is similarly charged with possession of drugs, possession with the intent to deliver, criminal conspiracy and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
According to police, the department received information that the cousins had allegedly gone to Pittsburgh to purchase two bricks of cocaine and then return to Connellsville.
Investigating officer, Cpl. Ron Haggerty spotted the vehicle believed to be occupied by the pair Friday evening and initiated a traffic stop along South Arch.
After speaking to both men, police said Robert Nicholson consented to a search that resulted in the alleged discovery of 78 stamped bags of heroin in the waistband of his trousers and 2.3 grams of cocaine in his shoe.
Police said Robert Nicholson told officers that he had purchased the drugs and had sold a portion of them on his return to the city.
Police said Christopher Nicholson was allegedly found to have 2.5 grams of crack cocaine, packaged for delivery, and a small amount of marijuana in his possession.
Both men were arraigned before District Justice Ronald Haggerty Sr. and lodged in Fayette County Prison on $20,000 straight cash bond, respectively.
On Monday, Christopher Nicholson was released from jail after posting the imposed bail.
Both men face a Nov. 18 preliminary hearing before District Justice Robert Breakiron.
