Mildred D. Kozak Tajc, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 83, of West Leisenring, Pa., died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at Uniontown Hospital. She was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Continental 1, Pa., a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Tekely Kozak.

Mildred was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, and a member of the Christian Mothers. She was formerly a member of St. Polycarp R.C. Church of West Leisenring, where she served as president of the Christian Mothers, was a Eucharist Minister and a Parish Counsel member. She was also a former member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Church, in Uniontown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Tajc (Wally Gingers) in 1990; three brothers, Joseph, George and Vincent; and a sister, Mary Tajc.

She is survived by her children, Jacqueline Corson and husband, Harold of Littleton, Colo., Lawrence Tajc and wife, Anne of Uniontown, Pa., James Tajc and wife, Sharon of Connellsville, Pa., Marguerite Brown and husband, Thomas of West Leisenring, Pa., Mary Ann Marcinko and husband, David of West Leisenring, Pa., Paula Tajc of Pittsburgh, Pa., David Tajc and wife, Candace of Greensburg, Pa., Linda Krieger and husband, Jay of Carmel, Ind., and Clare Huygens and husband, Rick of Scottdale, Pa.; three sisters, Anne Kunc of Cleveland, Ohio, Helen Ferrando of Otsego, Mich., and Gertrude Massey of Long Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Andrew Kozak of Carmel, Calif., and Steve Kozak of Redding, California; 20 grandchildren, Karin McGaughey and husband, Steve Readmond, Sharon Thurston, Craig Tajc, Helen Brown and husband, Charles, Stephen Tajc, Lara Bealko and husband, Andy, James Tajc, Paul Tajc, Christine Bazylak and husband, Brian, Celena Martin, Samuel Marcinko, Anna Marcinko, Amanda Krieger, Samantha Krieger, Wanda Krieger, Keith Tajc, Paige Tajc, Nicole Huygens, Daniel Huygens and Michael Huygens; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Thurston, Jonathon Thurston, Roy Readmond and Garrett Bazylak; and many nieces and nephews..
