Mock public funeral scheduled

1 min read

A mock public funeral will be held in Uniontown on Saturday in an attempt to steer youths away from drugs and alcohol. Organizing the funeral are Dorothy Boone, host of the radio program “Your Bible Speaks’ and an elder in the Hilltop Seventh Day Adventist Church in Uniontown and Elder William Smith of See & Hear Ministries of Donora.

The program will begin at 1 p.m. on Gallatin Avenue near Sail’s Inn with a funeral procession that includes marchers led by a limousine and a hearse.

The procession will continue to the steps of Uniontown’s city hall. A mock interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery. Refreshments will follow. For more information contact Boone at 724-437-9501 or Smith at 724-736-0437.

Uniontown city officials had earlier said they were backing the program.
